Guys, I Want to Go GLAMPING!

Tonight I decided to sandblast my feet, scrub them mercilessly, and then grease them up with Crisco.  Then, I also decided I needed to post an entry on this lingering "blog" of mine.  So, people don't really like to read a post, they generally want some pics.  But don't get excited, they are pretty boring.

Tonight I am dreaming of camping, no wait, glamping, by a river.  A river banked with Fall Foliage in the Ozark mountains.  That is where this picture was taken.  I was so thankful, to be able to sit at a picnic table by myself, and read a book by this river, which was surrounded by trees.  The sky was overcast and I could hear thunder above (higher in the mountains).  It was an awesome day.

The water was cold.  In October, we will be camping  glamping by this river, I can't wait.

While I totally want to "glamp" out our camp site.  I fear my husband does not share my enthusiasm for glamorous camping.

What do you think of when you see this picture?  Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy, anyone?  For those who know me, I am sure you can guess why I took this picture.  A) I seriously was saying "deep thoughts by Jack Handy" as I stood over this leaf, and B) I was also thinking Fall is almost here!

Another glamp site.  The two glamp pics were taken from Pinterest.  I am not sure of their origination, but obviously they are not my photos.
Dear Valerie, you have quite the collections of pins.

Tuesday, the First Day

The first day of the rest of our lives.  We are now proud parents of a school age child.  I don't think I need to say time flies, but I just did - so there you go.  Yes, he loves Kindergarten.  Who doesn't love Kindergarten?

He loves to take his lunch to school.  He ate a lit bit of everything that I packed (didn't have time to finish it though), then came home and refused a snack but ate the remainder of his lunch.  How funny?!  I think the secret lies in the lunchbox.  He digs the lunch box, not that fact that it's Star Wars, but that he is actually USING his lunchbox.  It must make him feel like a big kid.

I missed my Joseph, but now I get much more time alone with Charlotte.  Something she has never really experienced.  She seems very different without her "brutter's" presence.
I love this picture because he was trying to include her in the shot.  "Recess rules" they said.

I heart fluorescent lighting.  NOT!  But I do heart this picture.

Newsflash

I was patient.  I watched each and every DVD.  I waited for the mailman in anticipation of their arrival.  Now, all four seasons of Mad Men are an INSTANT watch on Netflix.

Family Photo Required

For the past two years I have needed to conjure up a family photo for Joseph's preschool.  Last year, since I was with child, I cheated and used a photo pre-pregnancy.  But this year, Charlotte is the preschooler, and since our family grew last year, there was no cheating, I needed a current photo.

In my usual procrastinating style, I waited until the last minute and was skeptical at the results.  But, I was pleasantly surprised.  I made a makeshift tripod with an old high chair and cook books and waited until evening.  Betsy was tired, having fought her afternoon nap, but I have several shots where she is looking at the camera.

I am looking forward to the next few weeks.  Joseph needs Kindergarten. Where he was once nervous, he is excited. Plus I think a more stringent routine will be good for everyone.

Sorry this post is kind of lame, but I wanted to post the family pic.  Also, I am guessing, Joseph may not be the only person freaked out by Humpty.

Say Hello to My Little Friend

A few weekends ago, David and I ventured out on a weekend getaway.  We had lots of fun.  I want to post more pictures, but don't have any patience right now.  As I sifted through pics, I found these.  I really liked this guy.  In fact I liked him so much he is the screen saver on my phone, and totally creeps out Joseph.  Which is funny, because Humpty Dumpty used to be Joe's favorite nursery rhyme.

I really don't feel like making dinner.  I am thinking about baking a peach cobbler, and then let Chik-Fil-A cook our dinner instead!
